Why vinyl flooring?

Vinyl is a prime candidate for office and home flooring for several reasons. Vinyl flooring is less expensive than genuine wood, easy to install, and easy to clean and maintain. Plus, it’s waterproof. All vinyl flooring is engineered with a protective surface that helps to reduce scratches and damage and is fully resistant to water. Additionally, because vinyl has that strong top layer, it’s extremely durable. Vinyl is also very comfortable underfoot and reduces sound transfer. Since vinyl can withstand many troubles of everyday wear, it’s an excellent choice for the areas in your home or business that see a lot of foot traffic.

You don’t have to take out your current flooring to give your floors a makeover. Vinyl flooring is fiberglass that has been engineered to resemble wood, natural stone, or other materials. No matter which look you get, vinyl comes in a wide range of stylish colors including white, beige, grey, and black. Vinyl comes in either sheets or squares, but in either case, it could be possible for vinyl to conveniently go on top of your current flooring to make your room upgrade that much easier.

Vinyl has become one of the most popular flooring choices for businesses and homes alike because of its durability, heat resistance, and waterproof abilities. When you work with GS Flooring for your flooring needs in Southern Utah including St. George, UT, you get high-quality vinyl at the most affordable prices.

Vinyl types

Although waterproof vinyl flooring comes in a variety of colors and designs, there are three main types of vinyl flooring available.

Vinyl sheet

Sheets come in a range of sizes to fit your flooring and are best known for creating a seamless floor. Since the vinyl sheet flooring comes in one large size for the whole area, the image is consistent across the whole floor.

Luxury vinyl planks

For the highest-quality vinyl flooring planks, check out our selection of luxury vinyl planks (LVP). These vinyl flooring planks are the best in waterproof vinyl flooring and can be made to look and feel like real wood.

Luxury vinyl tiles

Similar to LVP, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) is vinyl flooring that can be made to look like stone or ceramic. The key difference between LVP and LVT is how they are cut.

Vinyl vs. laminate

Laminate and vinyl flooring often look very similar and can even be confused with each other. What are some of the key differences between them?

Cleaning

Vinyl flooring can handle wet and dry cleaning methods, not to mention several cleaning products. Laminate doesn’t handle water well and should only be cleaned using dry methods.

Thickness

Vinyl typically is thinner than laminate. Even thin laminate generally is thicker than luxury vinyl planks, some of the thickest vinyl on the market. Of course, the thickness of vinyl and laminate change depending on the type.

Image

High-quality images are printed on both vinyl and laminate with a coating laid on top to protect the image. This ensures that the image stays in tip-top shape, even with slight wear and tear.
